The Okura brand

If the name Okura seems familiar to you, it is most likely due to the chic hotel of the same name in Amsterdam with a number of award-winning restaurants including Yamazato. Yamazato was the first Japanese restaurant in Europe to receive a Michelin star. Not surprising because The Okura is originally a Japanese hotel chain with renowned hotels in cities such as Amsterdam, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka and Taipei.

The Okura Prestige in Bangkok

This stylish five star hotel is located in the business district of Bangkok near BTS Phloen Chit and not far from the Siam shopping area. It is therefore not surprising that there are many other high class hotels such as the Hyatt and Marriott in this area. The Okura Prestige Bangkok consists of no less than 240 rooms, all with a beautiful view over Bangkok. Luxury and hospitality are two important pillars for The Okura. There is a beautiful and unique 25 meter long infinity pool that, just like the sky bar, hangs in the air and a spa where you can relax. You can dine in the Michelin star restaurant Elements but then of course you have Up & Above Restaurant and Bar with a unique view of the surroundings.

Up & Above Bar

Up & Above Bar has a wide range of wines, beers, (spirits) drinks, mocktails and cocktails. We drank six together on the beautiful terrace on the 24th floor. On this terrace you can relax in the spacious deep lounge sofas. The cocktails are tasty and the price suits a luxury location like this, not very cheap but certainly not on the shockingly high side. All drinks including cocktails can be found here.
