THREESIXTY ROOFTOP BAR & THREESIXTY JAZZ LOUNGE - PANORAMIC VIEWS FROM AN ICONIC RIVERFRONT BUILDING IN BANGKOK

On the edge of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok stands the iconic Millennium Hilton Bangkok. On the 31st floor, at a height of more than 100 meters, you will find the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar and the ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge. Relatively undiscovered gems where the fantastic views can often be quietly enjoyed with a cocktail, or two from the lovely lounge sofas or pleasant chairs. The ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar and ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge overlook the Chao Phraya River, which is quite different from most sky bars in Bangkok that are located in the middle of high-rise buildings and busy traffic.

ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar (outside)

We have already visited the Rooftop Bar of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok several times, but after hearing that the management had given the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar a restyle, we couldn’t resist visiting again at the end of 2021. No punishment as we always have a great time when we are here. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is perfect.

The layout of the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar

The bar of this rooftop bar is located immediately upon entering on your right hand side. If you walk through, there are high tables with stools and chairs with tables for two people. Then you can walk down the small elevation and arrive at the couches arranged in two rows. All the comfortable lounge sofas are arranged so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful view to the fullest. At the very other end, in the back, is a staircase that leads to the helicopter platform.

TIP!
Take a seat near the railing for the best seat. There are many great spots for a good sunset, this is definitely one of them! If you want a great/ the best spot  we suggest you come in early. ThreeSixty works with a walk-in first come first-serve basis.

The outdoor section, the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar can be found on the 31st floor of the hotel and offers a nice 360 degree view of Bangkok. Personally, we don’t like the way it looks inside, but the outdoor location still offers a formidable view of the Chao Phraya River and much of the city.

From the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar, the eye reaches all the way to Ratanakosin in the north. This district is home to many of Bangkok’s famous temples such as the Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Saket. The immense grounds of the Grand Palace can also be seen. Closer by is Chinatown, and if one looks straight ahead from the lounge chairs, the neighborhoods of Bang Rak, Silom and Sathorn are right in front. A few well-known and instantly recognizable eye-catchers in these districts are the MahaNakhon, the Lebua State Tower and the Ghost Tower.

DID YOU KNOW?
The residential tower to the right of the Hilton, the Magnolia Tower is, at a staggering 318 meters, the tallest building in Thailand. Next door is the super-luxurious ICONSIAM.

Helipad

Many don’t know this, but at the back of the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar is a staircase that leads to the helicopter platform. You can’t get on the helicopter platform itself, but in front of it is a part where you can get on. A tip to look there as well if you visit this rooftop bar. From here you can also see Wat Arun and you can take beautiful pictures. Enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view from the highest spot of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok!

Havana Bar

Since late mid 2021, the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar has had a remake. Little has changed in terms of the layout, but there have been changes in terms of branding and appearance. For example, the hip “Havana Club” painting of at least 15 m2, or the stairs to the helipad painted in the same style. The atmosphere was always very relaxed thanks in part to the friendly and approachable staff. The ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar feels more like a cozy bar than an upscale rooftop bar. Young adults with something to spend will definitely feel at home here!

Menu

The menu has also changed, these days (2022) it is mostly tapas that can be ordered. Or finger food that is easy to share and makes for a fun night out with your friends or as a couple. You can choose from a selection of cold or hot tapas. There are even a trio of desserts available. Of course, you can’t have a Rooftop Bar without a drink menu, we’ll get to that in a minute.

Cold tapas

Various meats such as Iberico Ham or Lomo can be ordered. Cheeses are of course also available, not only from France but also from Spain. As for cheese there are, among others, Spanish Manchego and 12 years old Comté (our favorite). Of course, there is also a cozy charcuterie board or cheese board to order with a mix of three types of meats or cheeses respectively.

Warm tapas

There are 14 hot tapas to order. During our visit, we ordered three different hot dishes. Highly recommended are the Crispy Cajun Spice shrimp, damn so delicious, crispy and juicy! Despite the good portioning, we would have been only too happy to have more haha. The Cheese & Jalapeno croquettes on the other hand were tasteless and not worth ordering in our opinion, order two servings of those shrimp or something else good from the menu. Of course, it could have been a mistake in the kitchen and maybe you should try them yourself first. Do let us know if they were not to your liking, so we know it’s not our fault.

Beverage list

You can’t have a sky bar without drinks of course, there are several spirits well represented such as cognac, whiskey, gin and of course some rums like the seven year old Havana Club. Wine lovers will also have a good time here as there are more than sixty different types of wine to order (red, white, rosé and bubbles). So is it a Havana Bar or Wine Bar?

Cocktails

Despite the fact that we hardly ever drink, really!, every time we visit a sky bar we order at least one cocktail. In this case, we ordered two per person. While looking at the drink menu, we noticed the Drink & Share “section”. A little flashback (see photo)… The very first time we visited this sky bar we ordered the Blue Margarita and were quite tipsy from this monster filled with Olmeca Tequila (the killer), Blue Curacao, Triple Sec and freshly squeezed lime juice. Then served in a giant cocktail glass, nowadays in a Cuban flamingo. We hear you thinking, “Yeah right and you hardly ever drink”…. Yes really!

Okay back to our last visit in December 2021. For our first round, we ordered the Big Mango (as an ode to Bangkok being nicknamed Big Mango) and a Wild Berry. After our food and a bottle of water to balance it out, we went for round two. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Creamy and Raspberry Red Kiss. As always, the cocktails are very good and for that reason alone you should visit the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar in Bangkok.

What are the prices at the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar in Bangkok?

When you think of a 5-star hotel like the Hilton, luxury quickly comes to mind with a price tag, and that’s true. Cheap is not an evening on the rooftop of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Still, compared to many other sky bars in Bangkok, the prices are actually not too bad. The price for a beer is 300 baht, a glass of wine costs 500 baht and for a (signature) cocktail you pay at least 550 baht. The prices mentioned include the 10% service charge and 7% tax. The 10% actually goes to the staff as extra income, good to know.

Want to know what cocktails the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar has to offer and what they cost? Then take a look at the beveragemenu. By the way, you can view the entire tapas menu here

SAVE MONEY
If you want to save money, combine a visit to the ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar with a visit to the adjacent shopping center ICONSIAM. There you can have a nice dinner at SOOKSIAM or another nice place in the mall and end the evening in style on top of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok! Here are some tips.

ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge (inside)

Due to the overcrowded schedule, we unfortunately didn’t have time to visit the ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge this time. Too bad, because this is actually the most beautiful part of the floor. Tony Chi, an American interior designer and the Australian design firm BAR Studio have ensured that the ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge is “one of a kind”. The striking UFO-shaped section has large windows that run almost from floor to ceiling. This provides a phenomenal and panoramic 360 degree view of Bangkok. Indescribably so beautiful and therefore you should really go here once if you are in Bangkok! The name ThreeSixty comes into its own here and yes Jazz is also there. With some regularity, live performances take place in this hip sky bar of Bangkok.

UPDATE 2022
ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge is currently closed but when it reopens we will keep you updated via our dedicated Bangkok Facebook group.

Dress code ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar & ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge

The outdoor and indoor areas of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok don’t really have a dress code, but of course the Hilton remains the Hilton. If you don’t want to look too out of place, it is advisable to dress nicely and that doesn’t have to be over the top. Think smart casual (no sportswear or frayed denim shorts and no flip-flops or sleeveless shirts for men).

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

The Millennium Hilton Bangkok is a great 5-star hotel where you never want to leave. The hotel is located right on the Chao Phraya River and offers different types of rooms for families, couples and business travelers. A real eye-catcher is the lower level pool that offers (almost) as nice a view as the rooftop bar. This hotel is on our list to visit one day, but for now you can find out more via Booking and/or Agoda.

Nearly 600 Hilton hotels worldwide!

Many travelers have visited one of the luxury accommodations of the well-known Hilton. If not, you’ve at least heard of it. Hilton Worldwide, one of the world’s largest hotel chains, now has nearly 600 hotels and resorts in just under 100 countries! Not surprisingly, the Hilton group has several hotels and resorts in Thailand. There are branches in Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya and of course Bangkok. What will be the next destination in Thailand
