SUNSET BEACH KHAO LAK
Sunset Beach is located in a bowl of pristine greenery, on one side it borders the hills of the lush Lam Ru National Park and a beach further on it borders the popular Nang Thong Beach, The beach is 1 kilometer long, has a sheltered location and slopes gently into the lovely blue sea.
Of course the beach lives up to its name and every night you can enjoy the sunset from the beach or the balcony of your hotel or resort.
On the beach there are only sunbeds available for hotel guests, as far as we know you can’t rent sunbeds on the beach when you’re not sleeping there. The restaurants on this beach also belong to the hotels on this beach. Nang Thong Beach with many restaurants and stores is about 15 minutes walk if you want some variation.

The hotels on this beach often call it a private beach, but that’s not quite right, Sunset Beach is a public beach. But because it has little to offer for day trips, the beach is mainly visited by hotel guests, which can be nice if you sleep in one of the hotels at Sunset Beach.

It will not surprise you, the hotels and resorts on this beach fall under the category luxury and super luxury. That means you can sleep in 3 star hotels up to 5 star hotels. real budget hotels or hostels are not (yet) in the immediate vicinity of the beach.

Morecea is a popular 5-star resort, the resort has different types of rooms, including rooms with balconies and rooms with pool access. For the real lucky there are also villas on the beach with or without a swimming pool. The resort is maintained.

Excellent 3-star resort right on the beach with 2 swimming pools, the fine and well maintained rooms all have a balcony. The hotel grounds look very neat. The resort is located in a beautiful garden.

What is there to do?
When you sleep on Sunset Beach, you sleep practically next to the beautiful Lam Ru National Park. There you can make a trek to a nice hidden beach or waterfall, here you can read more about this park.
Also the “center of Khao Lak” is not too far away. You can usually reach it on foot if your hotel is in the northern part of the beach. In the center of Khao Lak is everything you need and don’t need.
Less than a kilometer from Sunset Beach is Elephant Fly Zipline Khao Lak. Here you can zip in many different ways between the treetops of the jungle, also a fun activity for tough kids!
