SEEN RESTAURANT & BAR BANGKOK

SEEN Rooftop Restaurant & Bar Bangkok is located on the second top floor of the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. From the 26th and 27th floor you have a panoramic view over the Chao Phraya River with the Bangkok skyline in the background. On the 26th floor of this luxury hotel is the SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok. Slightly higher, on the 27th floor is the Attitude Bar At SEEN with a seafood bar.

We had a reservation for SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok on the 26th floor, this rooftop bar was opened in 2019.

You have to see SEEN!

We were immediately impressed when arriving at SEEN! The trendy interior consists of a lot of wood with warm tones and nice mood lighting. You can choose from several comfortable chairs and lounge sofas. They also thought about the small details because when it got dark we saw that there were all small lights hidden in the wooden floor.

We had a beautiful spot directly next to the glass balustrade with an amazing view over the Chao Phraya river. In the distance we saw the illuminated ferris wheel of Asiatique. Another part of the rooftop bar was decorated with white lounge sofas at different heights, of course again with a beautiful view. It may be a matter of taste but looking back on our visit we think SEEN is the most beautiful sky bar we have seen so far in Bangkok. And we have visited quite a few of them already!

TIP!
Do you want to visit such a nice place? Don’t forget to make a reservation or come early to avoid disappointment.

Also when it rains you will be fine

SEEN Rooftop Bar has an area covered with floor to ceiling windows and an area that isn’t covered. These two parts run nicely into each other. By the way, the uncovered part has a retractable roof. So you don’t have to worry about the weather. This allows you to visit this super sky bar even when it rains.

Cocktails and prices

The cocktails on the menu have names like Ant in the Pants and Don’t Call me Mister Mule. These are special creations by head mixologist Mochammam Fadli, winner of Chivas Master in Bahrain in 2015.  We drank among others the creations Agua de Coco and Fushion Julep. They were all masterful and tasty creations. The prices of the cocktails are between 400 and 500 baht. Of course you may choose the classic cocktails (from 390 baht) and mocktails (280 baht) as well. At SEEN they are big fans of whiskies, so whiskey lovers have a wide choice to enjoy.

(Chill) Beats!

During some nice beverages people can listen to the (chill out) beats of local and international DJ’s. At SEEN they think good music is important. That’s why there’s even a special music director (Scotty B). He makes sure that the music and performances at SEEN are high quality. The sounds that come from out the speakers are mainly house beats in all shapes and sizes tailored to the evening.

The music was never too loud and we could still hear each other very well, maybe later in the evening towards the end the volume will be a bit harder.

DID YOU KNOW?
There is also a SEEN Beach Club! You can find it at Bophut Beach on the island of Koh Samui.

Menu

While the lights went on along the river we were served the most delicious dishes from the stylish open kitchen. Not only the flavours were excellent but also the look was given a lot of attention. Each dish had a different matching plate. There even is a to share section on the menu with tasty snacks to share. We ate the Angus Carpaccio and SEEN Taco’s, both recommended!

The main courses such as the Wagyu Steak, SEEN Sashimi Plate and the truffle spaghetti were very tasty. We shared these dishes with each other… Just try to keep this good food for yourself when everything looks so good and tastes so delicious! At the end we had the  mouth-watering desserts White Bomb and the Banana & Peanuts that taste as good as they sound.

The menu was created by chef Olivier da Costa and was prepared to perfection by Chef de Cuisine Alexandre Castaldi. We saw Alexandre in the open kitchen preparing our dishes himself. SEEN is a restaurant and rooftop bar where you will be completely pampered. The service is incredibly friendly and made sure we didn’t lack anything. The will see us definitely back in SEEN!

Attitude Bar At SEEN

On the 27th floor (you can’t go higher) is the Attitude Bar At SEEN. While overlooking the Chao Phraya River, you will enjoy freshly oysters from Ireland, scallops from Japan, lobster from Maine and King Crab from Alaska. Attitude Bar At SEEN is the very first rooftop seafood bar in Bangkok. And because fish have to swim, matching cocktails and white wine packages are available from Wednesday to Friday.

Location SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok

SEEN is a bit further down the Chao Phraya River and a bit away from Bangkok’s city center. But once you’re upstairs you won’t notice anything because the view is super nice. Because SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok is located at the river you can use the free shuttle boat services. Every 20 minutes a boat leaves for Asiatique the Riverfront and the Sathorn Pier.

From the Sathorn Pier the boats of the Chao Phraya River Express and the free shuttle boats leave for ICONSIAM shopping mall. Sathorn Pier is also just a 2 minute walk from BTS sky train station Saphan Taksin. You can literally go in any direction.

SEEN Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel

We haven’t slept in the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel yet. But the areas that we saw when we went to the rooftop bar… WOW it all looked very beautiful and luxurious! We were told that all rooms overlook the river. The reviews we read of this hotel were also very good. We can well imagine that it’s good to spend the night here, who knows we will review this location in 2020 or 2021!

Spending the night around the Chao Phraya River

Along the river are beautiful large luxury hotel chains to find, often you look from your hotel room or pool on the river. The luxury hotels almost all have a free boat service to and from the hotel. Some famous top hotels along the Chao Phraya River are the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok and the Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Sleeping at the river doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Less luxurious but therefore affordable options include V Varee Bangkok and the River View Guest House.
