SAMET NANGSHE VIEWPOINT

From the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint you have a 180 degree view over Phang Nga. You overlook the largest mangrove forest in Thailand and Phang Nga Bay! The view is breathtakingly beautiful!

The Samet Nangshe Viewpoint is very beautiful during the day but it is even more beautiful when the sun rises! The sun rises between 05.30 and 06.00 above the limestone rock formations of Phang Nga Bay. But also the evenings and nights are beautiful because of the super good stargazing when the sky is clear. So prepare yourself for a night of little sleep and an unforgettable experience!

Two viewpoints

There are two places where you can enjoy the view. The “official” Samet Nangshe Viewpoint and the slightly lower Bay View Cafe. The Samet Nangshe Viewpoint is the highest located and has a more simple setting and restaurant.

The Bay View Cafe is a nicely furnished place with a nice terrace. There are all kinds of attributes such as swings and rattan bird nests with which you can take a picture. Slightly lower than the Bay View Cafe is the Samet Nangshe Boutique Hotel.

How to get to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint

As far as we know there are no special tours only to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint. If you want to go there you will have to use a scooter, cab or rental car.

From Phang Nga Town it takes about 45 minutes by car. A cab costs 800 to 1,000 baht for a one-way trip. From the center of Phuket (Patong Beach for example) it will take an hour and a half by car. The road to the site of the viewpoint is in good condition. Upon arrival you will see some small stores and there you can park your car or scooter. You are not allowed to take your own transport to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, if you see the road you will understand why!
