SAIREE BEACH
Sairee Beach is a beach of almost 2 kilometers long. The sea stays quite a bit shallow, which makes it a nice beach for families with children. About 30 meters from the coast are rocks and some coral where you can snorkel, but honestly there is not much to see. At the many diving schools, travel agencies and taxi boats of Sairee Beach you can easily book a dive or snorkel trip to the many beautiful snorkel sites on Koh Tao. If you want to be able to snorkel from the beach yourself, beaches like Tanote Bay and Aow Leuk are highly recommended.
If you are a bit sporty you can walk from Sairee Beach to the snorkel paradise Hin Wong Bay. But for sunbathing, swimming, drinking cocktails or a game of soccer or volley, Sairee Beach is the place to be! The beach is also good for a nice walk on the beach. If you walk all the way south you will come to a boulder with the initials of King Chulalongkorn and have a beautiful view over the bay of Sairee Beach.

Walking Street, shopping, going out and having fun!
Sairee Beach is the largest and liveliest beach in Koh Tao. There are many accommodations, diving schools, restaurants, bars and shops directly on and around the beach. A large part of the restaurants, shops and bars are located in Walking Street. This street runs almost entirely parallel to Sairee Beach. If you like shopping and going out, this is the place to be! If you keep walking south on Walking Street you will automatically end up at the Mae Haad Pier. In the evening it gets crowded in Walking Street. The bars turn up the music and here and there some stalls pop up with snacks like kebab, Thai pancakes and the popular pad thai.

On Walking Street you can visit a Ladyboy Cabaret Show or stroll along the various clothing and souvenir shops. Right on the beach there are also restaurants where you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner with your feet in the sand. In some places there are also beautiful fire dance shows to music. Always fun to watch with a beer or cocktail in your hand!

There are a number of hotels and diving schools right on the beach. The Lotus Bar and the surrounding area are known for the cozy parties that are regularly held on the beach. If you feel the need for a good night’s sleep it is wise to keep some distance from the Lotus Bar and Walking Street.
