PHU-ANNA ECO HOUSE REVIEW
An (eco)logical stop during the Mae Hong Son loop
Our first stop during the Mae Hong Son loop we did in a small town located in Chiang Mai Province. One of the reasons we stopped here is because the village is not far from Op Luang National Park. This national park had been on our list to visit for some time. During our preparation to do the Mae Hong Son loop, Thai friends of ours pointed out Phu-Anna Eco House. In retrospect, this was a very good choice. We had a good time and it was nice and quiet. After our first day of driving around, plus a visit to Op Luang National Park, we slept very well that night.

Where is Phu-Anna Eco House located?
Phu-Anna Eco House is a beautiful hidden gem, located not too far from the center of Chiang Mai. By car you will be about an hour and a half away. This small-scale accommodation is located in the small village of Hot, also sometimes written as Hod, amidst lush green landscapes. In our opinion, this small hotel is an ideal first (or last) stop during the Mae Hong Son loop, depending on how you start the Mae Hong Son loop.
An amazing and ecological accommodation along the Mae Hong Son route
What we really appreciate about Phu-Anna Eco House is that this accommodation tries to infringe on the environment as little as possible. The management has chosen to use as many natural materials as possible and works as ecologically as they can. You can feel by everything that these people care about mother earth.

A room upstairs or downstairs?
The small-scale hotel has a number of comfortable rooms found on the ground and second floors. Guests can choose from standard rooms that can be booked with a double bed or two single beds. A room with three free-standing single beds or a family room with a double bed and two single beds are also options.
Our room
We slept in a double room on the second floor, upstairs that is. Our room was clean and very spacious. We knew our room had a balcony, but in addition, there is a refrigerator, kettle and air conditioning in the double room at Phu-Anna Eco House.

Food and beverage
A pleasant side note is the coffee shop that is part of this ecological place. They serve delicious and varied dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients from the region! In the early morning, we could choose from a Western or Thai-oriented breakfast. The western option was served with two toasted sandwiches, jam and butter. Some salad, two sausages and a fried egg. The surprising Thai breakfast included moo ping, spicy sausage from the region, salad, sticky rice and chicken. Should you be able to handle it as a Westerner order these, it tasted delicious!
