Park Hyatt Bangkok

Five star hospitality at an exceptional five star hotel in Bangkok!

So far (2023), Park Hyatt Bangkok ranks first with us when it comes to the most luxurious and service-oriented hotel in Bangkok. We compare the super service with that we received during our stay at Rayavadee, located in Railay (Krabi). It will be hard to knock Park Hyatt Bangkok off its throne, because not only did we enjoy outstanding service here, but the facilities, location and dining experiences here are very impressive.

Via this review we give you a glimpse into our unique hotel experience, made possible by the impressive hospitality of the amazing staff. In the end, they made sure that we will never forget our stay in this extraordinary luxury accommodation. As a result, we will definitely visit them when we are in Bangkok again, just for that warm welcome!

Where is Park Hyatt Bangkok located in Bangkok?

You find Park Hyatt Bangkok in the lively Phloen Chit district where many embassies are located. The luxurious five-star hotel is located on the top of one of Bangkok’s luxurious shopping malls, Central Embassy. What we found very convenient and pleasant was the direct connection with this mall. The lobby of Park Hyatt Bangkok is on the tenth floor and the highest point, the hotel’s rooftop bar is found on the 36th floor of this shopping mall.

At the Central Embassy shopping mall, you can not only shop at fashion chains such as Chanel, Prada, Gucci and Versace. Visitors can also enjoy delicious food and drinks at various catering establishments. Small tip, not far from Park Hyatt Bangkok is the famous Italian restaurant Acqua by chef Alessandro Frau, a must visit if you love good Italian food!

Central Embassy, the stunning silver complex, is connected by skywalk (footbridge) with Phloen Chit BTS station. This makes exploring Bangkok by public transport extra easy! Tourist hotspots such as Mahanakhon, Lumpini Park, Chatuchak Weekend Market, Wat Arun or Wat Pho and the Grand Palace are relatively easy to reach by public transport, taxi or tuk tuk.

Park Hyatt Bangkok’s central location even makes it easy to visit numerous popular hotspots and cultural attractions on foot. Nearby are the (cultural) sights such as the Jim Thompson House & Museum and the Erawan Shrine, as well as shopping malls such as CentralWorld (on the roof is Red Sky, a great sky bar), Siam Paragon and MBK Center are a few hundred meters away.

The hotel has covered parking and valet parking. Bangkok’s international airport, Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK), is about a 45-minute drive away. By the way, the hotel also offers airport transfer for guests wishing to travel to or from the airport.

The accommodation itself

On May 12, 2017, Thailand’s first Park Hyatt opened. Let’s hope many more will follow. Park Hyatt falls under the Hyatt group’s most luxurious brand.

First of all, the unique architecture of the building that houses Park Hyatt Bangkok. Central Embassy is a real eye-catcher that adds zest to Bangkok’s skyline! It is also beautiful inside, the interior, the colors chosen, the use of quality materials and the large art collection certainly contribute to a great stay in Bangkok! The accommodation is also perfectly maintained, nowhere did we see anything that looked like decay of the beautiful hotel.

The futuristic five-star hotel can join the small list of luxury accommodations available for booking in Bangkok. Its 222 modern rooms and suites offer fine views of the city, but its large saltwater pool and excellent spa also make Park Hyatt Bangkok one of the city’s most luxurious accommodations. Thanks to the impeccable service and multiple highly rated restaurants, Park Hyatt Bangkok is for us the most luxurious and best hotel we have been guests of in Bangkok so far. We are very curious to see if any accommodation in Bangkok can take this spot!

In short, Park Hyatt Bangkok is more than just another luxury hotel in the vibrant heart of Bangkok. With its beautiful architecture, impeccable service and first-class amenities, this hotel offers its guests an unforgettable stay! We look forward to return here again (and again) for our revisit series!

Impressive art collection

One of the unique features of Park Hyatt Bangkok is the hotel’s impressive art collection. Art lovers, hang on, the hotel has over seven hundred contemporary artworks. We got to see some very special works of art. There were the shimmering paintings by artist Chatchai Puipia, and the imposing sculpture by artist Zhang Wang that can be admired outside on the tenth floor. The Scholar’s Rock, as this artwork is called, looks just like a chunk of shimmering meteorite. The hanging installation “Pagoda Mirage,” by artist Hirotoshi Sawada, was a sight to behold. We were proudly told that married couples were regularly photographed there. We can certainly imagine this. Park Hyatt Bangkok’s many types of artwork certainly contribute to a wonderfully luxurious stay.

SUPER Service!

As many of you know, hospitality is one of the most, if not the most, important reasons for an outstanding stay. At Park Hyatt Bangkok service is the key element that glues all the components together! During our first minutes at check-in, this was immediately apparent. During the following days, this was confirmed over and over again. From chambermaid to general manager, everyone was extremely friendly, service-minded and above all, themselves. Additional compliments to all the staff at the hotel’s many restaurants, what a fantastic stay you all gave us! THANKS!!!

Park Hyatt Bangkok rooms and suites

Park Hyatt Bangkok has a total of 222 rooms including 32 suites. Rooms are between 48 – 70 square meters and suites between 66 – 177 square meters, the latter size being for the presidential suite. All 222 elegantly furnished rooms offer breathtaking unobstructed views of the Bangkok skyline.

Whichever Park Hyatt Bangkok room or suite you choose, all rooms and suites feature modern and stylish interiors combined with timeless Thai touches. Each room or suite comes with a desk, high-speed WiFi connection, speaker phone, minibar, Nespresso coffee machine, hot water kettle, 48 – 65 inch LED TV, mini safe, hair dryer and complimentary bottled water. We personally liked the electric blinds and blackout curtains, something not every luxury accommodation in Bangkok has.

Below is a small list of the different suites and rooms that Park Hyatt Bangkok has to offer its guests.

Seven different type of suites at Park Hyatt Bangkok

The Presidential Suite, Ambassador Suite, Diplomat Suite and Governor Suite are Park Hyatt Bangkok’s most luxurious specialty suites ranging in size from 100 – 177 square meters. There are two Ambassador and two Governor suites, one Diplomat and one Presidential suite. All suites feature the very best amenities and offer great views of the Bangkok skyline. These suites are gigantic. All suites have a huge living room with a separate dining and sitting area and of course a separate spacious bedroom.

Then there are three other suites of which the Park Executive Suite is the largest. These suites are between 93 – 109 square meters and, like the Park Deluxe Suite and Park Suite King, include a separate living room and bedroom. The decor of all the suites is modern and sleek, this gives the rooms a very spacious feel.

Three different type of rooms at Park Hyatt Bangkok

In terms of type of rooms, Park Hyatt Bangkok does not have a whole lot of difference to offer. Needless to say, quality and comfort are also paramount here. Besides the King Room type, in which we stayed, there is also the King Deluxe room and the King Corner. The King and King Deluxe come in a double or twin variant, meaning either with a spacious double bed or two single beds.

The King Deluxe rooms are slightly more luxurious and slightly more spacious, and the King Corner offers an unparalleled 180-degree view of Bangkok. Despite this, we were absolutely thrilled with our King Room!

Learn more about Park Hyatt Bangkok’s suites and rooms you will find on Booking.com and/or Agoda.

Our room, the King Room at Park Hyatt Bangkok

As soon as we took 1 step into our room, we felt right at home. The room immediately felt clean and spacious, everything was done to perfection. The Park Hyatt Bangkok team had been thoughtful enough to welcome us with two coconuts and a strawberry tart including fresh fruit. The turn-down service was also super, we felt constantly welcomed and valued guests!

The living and bedroom area

Immediately upon entering left was a large walk-in closet where the safe and an iron and ironing board were also stored. Of course, a pair of fine slippers and a super fluffy bathrobe (the other could be found in the bathroom) could not be missed. Furthermore, the walk-in closet consisted of more than enough storage space for clothes and luggage.

In the front part of the bedroom there was a large desk and a convenient closet containing the minibar and coffee and tea making facilities. The Nespresso machine including plenty of cups ensured that we always had a fresh cup of coffee on hand.

In the second part of the bedroom was the sleeping area with a super comfortable king-size bed facing the TV cabinet with a large 55″ LED TV. Next to the bed, by the window a small sofa was placed that could also act as a chaise longue. Every morning (and evening) we enjoyed the view together while hearing nothing at all of the busy city noise in the room. The sound insulation in the hotel is absolutely top notch! The curtains could be controlled electronically and that made waking up in this fantastic hotel even nicer. To see the skyline of Bangkok from your bed while just waking up is so nice. We love that city!

The beautiful bathroom

On the far left was the beautiful large bathroom. This is one of the finest bathrooms we have had in Bangkok. The beautifully designed, but mostly pleasant bathtub overlooked the city and there was also a separate spacious shower stall. The similar marble floor and wall tiles made this bathroom bright and added to the clean and spacious feeling. A huge vanity was built in which a his and her sink was installed. The many Le Labo “Bergamote 22” toiletries smelled and felt very pleasant, an asset to this luxurious accommodation!

All facilities under one roof!

After our super fast and convenient check in, we immediately said to each other, “this is where we are going to enjoy the next few days as much as possible, let’s cancel at least a few appointments”. Guests can easily spend a few days at the luxury hotel without stepping outside the building. Park Hyatt Bangkok boasts an insanely fine infinity pool, an extensive fitness center, an amazing spa and some superb restaurants. And in case you feel like shopping, through the hotel you can get inside one of Bangkok’s luxury malls!

The saltwater inifity pool

Much of our carefree days were spent by the blissful saltwater pool on the ninth floor of the magisterial Park Hyatt Bangkok. Surrounding the 40-meter-long infinity pool are numerous sunbeds and cabanas in the tropical garden, spread over several heights. The terrace and pool offer spectacular views of the city. We enjoyed the pool so much that we even chose to have a lazy lunch on our cabana. In fact, the pool bar offers a wide selection of drinks and light meals, including delicious fresh juices and tasty club sandwiches. What a wonderful life!

The spacious gym is open 24 hours a day and has a nice view of part of the Bangkok skyline. We recommend you get the most up-to-date information directly from the hotel, as they may vary.

Pañpuri Organic Spa

During our extremely luxurious and relaxing last days in Bangkok, a spa treatment at one of Bangkok’s best spas couldn’t fail to impress. Pañpuri is a luxury wellness and beauty brand known not only for its spa and skin care products, but also for its various Pañpuri Organic Spas.

Once we had checked in on the eleventh floor of our perfect hotel spa, we were allowed to take a seat and were offered a drink. We could indicate not only our preference for massage type and massage oil, but also the aromatic smell in the room. After the professional intake interview, we were escorted to one of eight treatment rooms. The room was dimmed, smelled wonderful and was equipped with two massage tables and a huge bathroom with a shower stall containing a double shower.

We were allowed to take a seat on the small sofa placed in a corner. Our feet were washed with a mixture of lukewarm water smelling of kaffir lime. We are still talking about the next moment, the moment we were allowed to lie on the massage table, uhm, beds. Three words, soft, warm, WONDERFUL! By now we have sat on dozens of massage tables, this was the very first time it was heated and was oh so comfortable.

The treatment itself was a perfect 10! Peaceful, comfortable, careful and tailored to our personal needs. From the first moment to the all too quick end, we were treated incredibly well by the professional Pañpuri staff. The handling at the end with the hot towels was especially sublime! After our extremely intense but relaxing treatment, we were allowed to relax in the lounge with a refreshing drink and fresh melon.

If we are ever going to write an article about the top 10 spas in Bangkok, we are sure Pañpuri deserves a place in it! Did we get you interested in Pañpuri Organic Spa? Then check out their wellness products and locations via panpuri.com

Excellent food and drinks at Park Hyatt Bangkok!

Finally, the final (culinary) highlight of Park Hyatt Bangkok! The hotel has several restaurants and bars, including the stylish Penthouse Bar + Grill spread over four floors, the Embassy Room – Catalan Cuisine where Catalan cuisine is done justice and the Living Room.

Superb breakfast options at Park Hyatt Bangkok

Let’s start with the most important meal of the day! Our breakfast, which stood for wonderful waking up at Park Hyatt Bangkok, we are still talking about it. Everything is just right there, the perfect service, a good varied buffet, plenty of comfortable seating and the ample hours from 06:30 to 10:30 am.

While many guests chose to sit inside the Embassy Room, we invariably chose to sit outside on the comfortable couches. A nice sheltered spot with soft cushions that offers fantastic views of the infinity pool and Bangkok skyline.

Breakfast is offered both a la carte and buffet style. The menu features numerous Western and Asian specialties, as well as dishes from the Middle East and some super healthy dishes. Park Hyatt Bangkok’s lucky guests get to choose from these without restriction. In addition to the list of breakfast dishes, there was a huge selection of coffee, tea, fresh juices, smoothies and even champagne! The Signature Croissant Benedict, a fresh croissant with poached egg, smoked ham, avocado and Hollandaise sauce, tasted outstanding! Next time, and there will definitely be one, we will choose another dish from the menu of more than 25 specialties!

The breakfast buffet was very extensive and varied, from different types of bread and sweet and savory fillings, to cereals with dairy products. An extra point for the freshly squeezed juices such as orange juice, which we could grab from the refrigerator. Another extra point for the fresh croissants and other delectable sweet breads! While we are scattering points, we always get extra happy with an extensive fruit selectíe including passion fruit.

Further down at the Embassy Room’s giant open kitchen, hot dishes were shining. From a good piece of roasted meat with potatoes to rice and noodle dishes. More than enough choices for guests with hearty appetites.

Embassy Room - Catalan Cuisine

More about the Embassy Room, long before we joined Park Hyatt Bangkok we had heard about the fantastic Catalan dishes served here for lunch and dinner. This is all led by Catalan chef Ferran Tadeo. Thanks to Ferran and his team, Embassy Room – Catalan Cuisine has been included in the 2023 Michelin Guide Recommended Restaurants and will definitely be part of the Michelin Guide Thailand 2024!

Whether you sleep at Park Hyatt Bangkok or not, if you are looking for a particularly good restaurant then we recommend booking a table at the Embassy Room and ordering the ‘tradició i evolució – tasting journey’ menu. On our first evening, we were spoiled with this blissful six-course menu including the ‘wine journey’. The dishes on this menu are so incredibly good and delicious!

Penthouse Bar + Grill

Penthouse Bar + Grill consists of six locations spread across the top four floors of Park Hyatt Bangkok and starts on the 34th floor. All six locations are inspired by the classic bars and restaurants of Chicago and New York, but in Bangkok. We enjoyed of one of the very best lunches we’ve had in a hotel in Bangkok. On another day, we sipped cocktails on the hotel rooftop while enjoying the panoramic view of the city. Another rooftop bar that we can cross off our list!

Penthouse Grill

Penthouse Grill, the culinary centerpiece of Penthouse Bar + Grill, is located on the 34th floor of Park Hyatt Bangkok. With a selection of prime meats and seafood grilled over charcoal, the Penthouse Grill is the perfect spot for a good lunch or dinner during your stay at one of Bangkok’s finest accommodations. In addition to the stylish main restaurant, you can dine outside on the small terrace. The view there is amazing! Unfortunately for us, it just started to rain when we sat down outside. Glad it was also very good to take place inside where you still have a super nice view of Bangkok from the restaurant.

For our lunch at Penthouse Grill, we chose from the two-course lunch menu with a dessert added. As a starter we chose was a salad with tiger shrimp, pomelo and coconut. The combination of the succulent shrimp and pomelo, tomato, herbs and toasted coconut was outstanding! The second item we ordered as an appetizer was the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. The thinly sliced Japanese Okan Wagyu was covered in a thick layer of grated parmesan cheese and truffle mayonnaise. The freeze-dried capers completed this delicious dish perfectly.

For our main course we chose the potato gnocchi and steak frites, super! To finish off our start to our amazing Park Hyatt Bangkok stay, we finished with a New York Strawberry Cheesecake and the Baba au Rum. The Baba with pineapple, coconut mascarpone and a heavy dose of rum was heavenly! Without exaggerating, this was the very best lunch we have ever had in a Bangkok hotel! Even the bread we received prior to our dishes was outstanding! As such, we highly recommend anyone staying at Park Hyatt Bangkok to have lunch at Penthouse Grill at least once!

In conclusion

We keep repeating it, Park Hyatt Bangkok is so far (2023) the very best hotel we have stayed at in Bangkok. We have slept in over thirty hotels by now and certainly not the least.
