Loh Dalum Beach, also called Loh Dalum Bay, together with Ton Sai Beach is one of the two largest bays on Koh Phi Phi. Loh Dalum is also one of the most visited beaches on the island. You walk in less than 5 minutes from Loh Dalum Beach to the pier of Ton Sai Beach where you arrive / depart by ferry or speedboat.

The beach of Loh Dalum is located in a beautiful sheltered bay with limestone rocks and has fine white powder sand. There are a number of trees that provide some shade. There are no sunbeds on the beach itself. The beautiful large bay is also visible from the Phi Phi Viewpoint.

At Loh Dalum Bay there are a number of bars and accommodations where parties are held in the evening (and sometimes during the day). Because of this, this beach is often visited by youngsters and during the high season it is the party beach of Koh Phi Phi.

The bay of Loh Dalum Beach is quite shallow. When the water starts to retreat there is no more water left than a lovely warm paddling pool. Because of the sheltered location of the bay there are almost no high waves. This makes this beach ideal for small children or people who want to sunbathe in the sea. There is a stretch of sea for swimming so you don’t have to worry about the (longtail) boats that sail here. You can rent kayaks and take sup lessons, so you can explore the bay. If you want you even could paddle to Monkey Beach. In the bay there are also longtail boats and one there is a speedboat where you can make day trips to the surrounding islands and beaches.

Finally, during low tide there is almost no water left in the bay and you can explore a very large part of the bay on foot. If you still want to swim you have to walk quite a bit. A place to sunbathe is all the more so.

Parties at Loh Dalum Beach

Especially the eastern side of Loh Dalum Beach and the village behind it are known for their parties and loud music until late at night. In the evening the beach of Loh Dalum starts to come back to life. Here people from all over the world come together to party. The Dutch are also well represented on this party beach! The most popular bar on this beach is the Slinky Bar. Here you can watch beautiful fire shows and participate in all kinds of games. With these games you can win buckets (buckets with mixed drinks) for free. There are also regular free shots given away. Because of this, the atmosphere is usually good! Slinky is the place to be if you like electronic dance music and like to party with your feet in the sand!

Slinky also has a hostel almost on the beach, don’t expect that you can really sleep in this hostel before 2 AM. Aren’t you demanding, do you want to party and meet new people? Then this is the place for you!

Near Slinky is a swimming pool of Ibiza House Phi Phi with sea view, three times a week pool parties are held here. Look here for the event calendar. When there are no parties there is an entrance fee for the pool.

If you want a good night’s sleep make sure you sleep far away from this part of Loh Dalum Beach. Like for example the U Rip Resort, within walking distance but not within hearing distance. Also read the best hotels on Koh Phi Phi for more tips on where to sleep on Phi Phi!
