KOH KOOD PARDISE BEACH RESORT, OUR EXPERIENCE
A little paradise located on one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Kood
Early 2023, we stayed several nights at the beautiful Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort. We were looking for something on Ao Tapao Beach, because it’s simply one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The three days at the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort were very nice! The staff is friendly, our rooms are clean and spacious, plus there are plenty of public areas where you get the ultimate vacay feeling. In short, if you are visiting Koh Kood, read on and maybe this resort will also be your paradise spot during your stay on this island.

Where on Koh Kood is the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort located?
Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort is located on Ao Tapao Beach, near the Namluek pier. From this pier the boats from Koh Mak depart and arrive. From the resort you can walk straight into the clear blue sea and take pleasant walks on the long beach of Ao Tapao. Every morning, before breakfast, we took a long beach walk. Ao Tapao Beach is a fantastic beach. The beach has swings placed in several locations and you will find several restaurants with sea views. Towards evening, locals gather on the large concrete pier to socialize and enjoy the spectacular sunset.
Watching the sunset from the beach at the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort is fantastic! From the resort you have a prime spot to enjoy the daily spectacle, highly recommended with a delicious cocktail in hand. In the immediate vicinity of the resort is a village with everything you need. There are several restaurants and bars located there, as well as stores, scooter rentals, a pharmacy, money exchange and an ATM. Despite the lively environment, we decided to hang out at our own resort the first evening where we enjoyed a delicious bbq.

The resort
The Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort opened in 2016. The resort consists of large grounds (11 Rai = 11.200 m2) with a building with two different types of rooms upon entering. Further along, towards the beach, there are different types of villas on the sprawling property. There is a large semi-open lobby where you are kindly checked in and can go with all your questions. Needless to say, a four-star resort like the Paradise Beach Resort on Koh Kood has a number of fine facilities, about which more about this part we describe further on.
The different types of rooms, villas and suites at the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort
The total of 70 “rooms” are divided into seven different bookable options. Such a large resort on Koh Kood is quite unique; most accommodations on the island are a lot smaller. The beds are nice and soft and all rooms come with air conditioning, a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and a fast, stable Wi-Fi connection.
The main building houses the Superior Garden and Superior Partial Seaview rooms. Both rooms are spacious with an area of no less than 40 m2. All rooms in the main building have a balcony. The Seaview rooms can be found on the highest floors. The two types of rooms have a double bed or two single beds. The Superior Garden and Superior Partial Seaview rooms are farthest from the beach and restaurant, but are the cheapest option to book.
The Garden Villa, Deluxe Villa (our villa) and Beach Front Villa all have an area of 50 m2. These types of rooms are near or even on the beach and close to the lobby, pool and restaurant/bar. The villas are connected by an overhead wooden walkway, very nicely done! This gives this part of the Paradise Beach Resort on Koh Kood an extra vacation vibe. All villas have a nice terrace where you can enjoy your vacation. We loved chatting while having a nice beverage on our own terrace after a long day.
Our Deluxe Villa was absolutely fabulous! The nights we were guests at Koh Kood Paradise Beach we slept soundly on our huge and blissfully soft bed. The room and bathroom were clean and, not unimportantly, the water pressure and hot water were fine. We experienced that differently in other parts of Koh Kood…
There are also a number of Family Villas to book. A perfect accommodation for the family or a bunch of friends. The Family Villa of 120 m2 accommodates four people and has a living area, bathroom and two bedrooms. A huge terrace is placed in front of the villa.
Finally, there is the Private Pool Villa. A very nice villa inside, but we want to be honest, the private pool is very small. We think it’s more like a Jacuzzi, rather than a full-fledged pool. Nevertheless, this room with a splendid bathroom is the most beautiful in the resort. Check out our photos.
We slept right next to the Private Pool Villa and were able to take a look at it during the day and evening. In fact, the villa was booked by a trio from Taiwan that we became friends with. Together with a German couple (whom we also became friends with during our stay on Koh Kood), we spent a very pleasant evening on the terrace of this beautiful pool villa listening to music. One of the Taiwanese had brought his acoustic guitar and could sing very beautifully. Another special memory to never forget! Travel enriches!

The resort’s facilities
It wasn’t just the great location for which we decided to choose the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort . In fact, we were also looking for an affordable resort with a large pool and sunbeds (preferably with soft cushions). In the pictures online we saw a big orange pool, “a possible contender,” we thought. We also saw a cozy spot outside on the grass that had tables and a nice looking bar area, soon the contender option turned into a “we must have this one”!
Even before we checked into the large lobby, we saw a small store/supermarket on the property. Handy for stocking up on some snacks or drinks! During check-in, everything was neatly explained to us and we were proudly told that the resort is one of three properties with its own meeting room. We looked at each other and joked back that we had no intention of attending a meeting.

After making a copy of our passports, we were kindly asked to follow the friendly lady to our Deluxe Villa. She pointed to the small gym across from the lobby. Here you will find some fitness machines and weights, totally fine for a workout to keep those vacation pounds in check. We were also told that the resort offers its guests free use of kayaks and paddle boards that can be rented for 300 THB an hour. We walked toward the pool and saw a small open Thai massage parlor. After a day exploring the island, there is nothing nicer than enjoying a professional Thai massage. We stopped to look at our pool for the next few days, large, beautifully situated, with lots of sunbeds (with cushions) and… in the color orange.
A big orange pool!
The orange pool at the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort is a real eye catcher! Surrounding and partly in the water are numerous enough sunbeds with soft cushions. The orange infinity pool overlooks the field of dining tables, the bar and the palm tree-rich coast, that’s part of the Gulf of Thailand. We had such a good time here. Not only on the sunbeds by the pool, but also on the sunbeds located on the large lawn located next to the restaurant’s terrace.
The orange pool is 25 x 15 meters in size and has a maximum depth of one and a half meters. There is even a Jacuzzi placed in the pool, but also taking into account the little ones. An enclosed part of the pool is shallow, so the kids can also splash and splash. The orange infinity pool is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
Advantages in terms of facilities at Paradise Beach Resort on Koh Kood
+ Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort has a fantastic infinity pool with unprecedented views
+ At the resort itself you can book a professional massage
+ There is a small but excellent gym available
+ If you wish, you can use the resort’s meeting facilities.
+ There is a small supermarket for snacks and drinks

Food and drinks
Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort has a large indoor restaurant where the breakfast buffet is ready every morning. On the terrace outside, adjacent to the pool, there are more tables. Every morning we took a seat here and admired the surroundings in the early morning light, we woke up wonderfully! A little further on, just before the beach, is a large grassy area where different sized tables are placed. Here is also the bar, the cozy centerpiece overlooking the sea during the evening hours of us and many others.
There were times when we enjoyed the food and drinks wonderfully, but we also experienced some serious misses. We were told this was because some of the friendly staff had yet to be inducted. After Covid-19, as in Europe and other parts of the world, there was a staff shortage here as well. We assume that this has now been resolved and everything is running smoothly. Nevertheless, our compliments to the whole friendly staff who really tried their best, especially to the mixologist, this fine fellow deserves an extra compliment.
Breakfast buffet
Breakfast at Koh Kood Paradise Beach comes in buffet style and is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 am There is an egg station, a coffee machine with good coffee (from an automatic machine) and a choice of numerous hot and cold dishes. There are two types of cheese, ingredients for a healthy salad, various meats, Thai dishes such as fried rice and curries, a few types of bread including a bread toaster, jams and fresh fruit. Too bad about the overly sweet juices in too small glasses, but we are used to that by now in Thailand.
Lunch
You can also have lunch at the resort! At your sunbed or table overlooking the pool / sea or in your own room / on your own terrace. From pizza to fried rice and from curries to the famous club sandwich, it’s all available. Of course we ordered a fresh coconut at least once a day to complete our summer holiday feeling on Koh Kood. Lunch is served daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Dinner
Dinner is available from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm (last order at 9:30 pm). During our stay, we dined twice at the Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort. Once with our new German friends, a couple who were honeymooning at the resort (good choice) and once nicely together. Both times we dined by the large lawn, lit with lights and with the sound of the murmuring sea in the background. What a wonderful place!
During our arrival day, we decided to order dishes from the bbq. We shared a serving of grilled shrimp and a fish that had been the catch of the day. Very fresh and tasty, especially with that green Thai seafood sauce (tip). With our German friends, we shared some appetizers and a variety of Thai dishes such as a green curry, pad krapow and pad see ew as the main course. Thai food is even tastier when you share it, that way you can vary and taste everything. At the urging of our German friend, we ordered, how could it be otherwise, a few large pints of Chang and the cozy evening ended up becoming a nice long night together with a threesome from Taiwan.
Sunset Beach Bar
Every evening, during happy hour from 5 till 7 pm, we had a cocktail (or two) at the Sunset Beach Bar. The mixologist at the bar is extremely friendly and mixes great cocktails. Despite the extensive cocktail menu, on several occasions we asked the mixologist to concoct something “special” for us. His creations were not inferior to the cocktails we were served at the many sky bars in Bangkok. A true professional!
