KLONG PRAO BEACH, FOR RELAXATION AND ROMANCE
Klong Prao Beach on Koh Chang is a beautiful beach lined with large trees that provide nice shady spots. According to some visitors to Koh Chang, this is the most beautiful beach on the island. Between the trees are mainly large resorts with bungalows right in front of the beach. The water is shallow for a long time, making it an ideal beach for children or anyone who likes to paddle. At high tide you can also swim here.
In the northern and southern part of the beach are most accommodations and restaurants. You will probably be able to find everything you need there. But don’t expect a big tourist shopping street. Most visitors to this beach are families with children and couples who just want to lie on a beautiful beach without too much fuss and bother.

Klong Prao Beach is only a few kilometers away from the entrance of the Mu Ko Chang National Park and the Khlong Phlu Waterfall.
Food & Drinks
If you want to go a little further from home, you can go for good (iced) coffee and a nice cake or sandwich to Marin Coffee on the main road. It’s a nice hip coffee shop. For the best pizza in the area, Marco Ristorante Italiano is the place to be!
A fun thing to do is to have a Korean bbq night. For around 240 baht per person you get your own BBQ on the table and you can eat unlimited fish and spicy curries. If you are less confident in your own cooking skills, you can also just join the popular and affordable seafood restaurant Nong Bua Seafood located nearby.

In the southern part of Klong Prao most restaurants are located on the main road near the Centara Resort. There is also a food market where you can buy cheap yummy Thai food.
Fireflies and romance by the river
About halfway down Klong Prao Beach, the beach is split by an estuary. At this estuary are a number of restaurants, hotels and houses on stilts. The estuary is also ideal place for a romantic dinner. It’s even possible for the two of you to dine in a boat with a gondolier. If you still have a proposal to make this is your chance! Most of the restaurants along this river offer their guests a free boat ride after sunset to watch the fireflies, so it’s going to be a brilliant evening anyway! Do you like to stand at the helm yourself? At places like Iyara Seafood, you can rent kayaks or sub boards to explore the estuary for yourself.
