KHUK KHAK BEACH
Khuk Khak Beach borders Coral Beach (Laem Pakarang Beach) in the north and Bang Niang Beach in the south. Khuk Khak Beach is a beach that you often find empty. Most people who come here sleep in one of the few resorts on this beach.
Nice soft sand
The beach is long and wide with fine soft sand. The difference between low and high tide here is big and when the water is low the beach is very wide and the sea is quite a bit shallow. The beautiful long coastline is lined with trees and palm trees. On the beach are small huts where you can book a well deserved massage. Restaurants are not directly on the beach but slightly to the back of a narrow road that runs parallel to Khuk Khak Beach. If you look over the beach it may seem that the beach is deserted.
What is there to do at Khuk Khak Beach?
Khuk Khak Beach is adjacent to the beach of Bang Niang, one of the busy beach resorts of Khao Lak. Because of this, there are many cozy restaurants and bars nearby, while Khuk Khak beach is usually nice and quiet. So you have the best of both worlds.
(Night) markets nearby
The Bang Niang Market is only 10 minutes drive from Khuk Khak Beach. Here you should be for tasty snacks, refreshing drinks such as fresh coconuts, cocktails, clothes and nice souvenirs.
A little closer is the Khao Lak Bang Niang Fresh Market. There are no souvenirs or cocktails here because this is a real Thai fresh market. Here you will be overloaded with fish, vegetables, fruit, meat and spices. This market is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. This market can be easily combined with the International Tsunami Museum. This museum is located opposite the fresh market.
Also the nightly open Build Container Night Market is a nice market with nice places to eat and have a drink. The market is located about 2 km from Khuk Khak Beach and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 17:00 to 23:00.
