IN THE PICTURE #87: MANUEL

In this feature called ‘In the Picture‘ we ask great photographers from all over the world to share their 10 most favorite Thailand photos with our readers. See Thailand through the lens of the photographer, read the background stories and learn more about the land of smiles.

Very nice that we get to show images of some of the national parks that Thailand is rich in! Grazie Manuel, nice that also a talent like you participates in our column!

Tanti saluti da Ollanda

Ciao Manuel, could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Dear readers of Thailand Magazine,

My name is Manuel and I’m from Lonato del Garda, Province of Brescia in La Bella Italia. Studying wasn’t my passion, and today I am a mechanical maintenancer. I’m now based in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. Thanks to my parents and the many trips we made together, I started taking pictures. My passions are traveling, mountain climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and so on….

Enjoy my photos and especially the nature in Thailand if you are,

Manuel

04-09-2021 📌 Namtok Phlio National Park in Chanthaburi province
It may seem like nothing special, but for me this place was a nice discovery. And yes, I am addicted to nature, hence! Ah, watch out for the slippery floor!

#2

Kamala Beach on Phuket

11-04-2021 📌 Kamala Beach in Phuket province
Enjoying the beach life at Kamala Beach. Just this day, the rest of the trip was all about exploring the island of Phuket with my girlfriend.

What is your favorite destination in Thailand?

The Khao Sok National Park, because…it is simply amazing!!! It seems to remind me a bit of my home country, Lake Garda in Italy.

Which place / destination in Thailand is still on your wish list to visit?

Everywhere I’ve never been before!

Royal Pavilion Mahajetsadabadin in Bangkok

05-12-2019 📌 Royal Pavilion Mahajetsadabadin in Bangkok
Recently I was back in Thailand, this time not for visiting temples and other destinations, but to temporarily work work and live here. This place was one of my favorites in Bangkok since my first visit, so I decided to go back here to walk around around like a local, never thought to get a shoot like this! (Behind the temple you can also see the Loha Prasat in the distance).

#4

Wat Chaiwatthanaram in Ayutthaya

01-02-2020 📌 Wat Chaiwatthanaram in Ayutthaya
Never before had I been to Ayutthaya, this was the first time at an ancient historic Thai site. This temple was the most special of my trip and even more special during the sunset!

Which place / destination do you recommend our readers to visit and why?

The Kaeng Krachan National Park, because there are many different places to visit, wild animals to spot and other things to do…

Where do you like to eat?

Uhmm I don’t really have a favorite….

#5

Prasat Sdok Kok Thom in Sa Kaeo province

10-07-2021 📌 Prasat Sdok Kok Thom in Sa Kaeo province
Having been to Cambodia years ago and fallen in love with Khmer art and architecture, this place was a big déjà vu for me, with nothing to envy about Cambodia’s signature temples.

01-03-2022 📌 Tat Mok National Park in Phetchabun province
Far beyond the “must” of Thailand, beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea, nightlife … I love the outdoors, hiking, camping … and this moment was one of the best gifts Mother Nature gave me!

¿China???? Nee, we are still in Thailand!!!

I had a Nikon D7100 with wide angle, 50-50 and 300, but it is now somewhere in India haha. After that sad situation, I only use my iPhone 12 mini.

Instagram = Manuel Malacarne

Last question, who should we also ask our ‘In the Picture’ feature?

Sorry I don’t know, but are you following Thailand Magazine on Instagram already?

Klong Lan National Park in Kamphaeng Phet province

16-10-202 📌 Klong Lan National Park in Kamphaeng Phet province
I don’t want to brag, but I’ve seen a lot of waterfalls all over the world and in Thailand, but this one: wow! What a powerful amount of water! This is definitely the most impressive force in Thailand! Highly recommended to visit at the end of the rainy season, of course!

#12

Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary, Thi Lo Su Waterfall in Tak province

05-12-2021 📌 Thi Lo Su Waterfall @ Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary in Tak province
And then yes, this is the topper so far. It’s not easy to sum this up in one word, perhaps the closest is: ENCHANTING. Ah, and the way to get here!? Guys, trust me: if you’re car sick you’d better take a helicopter! I rode the amazing “Umphang 1219 curves route” here with my CB500X and I almost got a hangover…. the bikers will know what I mean!
