Hi Harin, could you please introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! My name is Harin. I was born and live in Bangkok, Thailand. Photography is one of my hobbies, especially street and architectural photography because I like seeing people’s activities and various styles of buildings.
#1
Bangkok in 2020
This catholic church is Holy Rosary Church or Thai people call Wat Kalawa located on Charoen Krung Road where there are stunning old buildings. It was a trip with my friend to see the Van Gogh Exhibition at the River City Bangkok (at the Chao Phraya River) where the church is near the exhibition.
#2
Nakhon Pathom in 2020
Wat Samphran is located in Nakhon Pathom province, around 40 kilometers to the west of Bangkok. This temple has the stunning tower which you can see the dragon curling around the tower. My favorite moment here is that I could go inside the dragon, took the landscape shots, and enjoyed the air from the top of the tower.
What is your favorite destination in Thailand?
I don’t go to many places and want to explore more. But as far as I have visited, my favorite one is Nong Nooch Tropical Garden Pattaya.
Which place / destination in Thailand is still on your wish list to visit?
I like mountains and waterfalls. I’d like to see Phu Kradueng with my own eyes.

Bangkok in 2021
This image is one of my everyday life. I work at the business area of Bangkok, the city that full of high-rise buildings. I took this shot in the evening, the time that people are going back home but I see the beauty on these façades. In the middle you see the iconic Mahanakhon building.
#4
Pattaya in 2022
I really wanted to visit Nong Nooch Garden in Pattaya but I didn’t have a chance. One day I saw a news on Twitter that this botanical garden opened the access at free of charge if visitors showed the vaccination certificate of third dose. Then I told my parents that we shouldn’t have missed this chance since we all got the boosters. I was very impressed by the stunning plants and decoration.
Which place / destination do you recommend our readers to visit and why?
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya if you love botanical gardens and Dinosaurs. Or take a walk on Charoen Krung Road if you love combination styles of architectures in Bangkok. And Baan Hunlek at Chachoeng Sao province where there shows the work of engine parts for those who love robots.
Where do you like to eat?
I can’t remember the name of restaurant, but I recommend you try eating at Tha Prachan (a pier in the Rattanakosin area), near Thammasat University, Tha Prachan campus (Bangkok).

Bangkok in 2020
I went to Wat Pho with my mom when Covid-19 was down in Bangkok. The advantage side was that there wasn’t crowded there so we could roam around the temple comfortably. And this wall painting is one of my favorite art pieces that you can see on the temple’s wall. The artists wanted to tell us history and famous literature.

Bangkok in 2020
I photographed this photo in the beginning of 2020 while I was visiting Wat Pathumwanaram near Central World. The confrontation of two different styles of buildings and spheres is interesting. Surrounded by rushing things, people can find quiet space to meditate. (On the roof of Central World is the beautiful sky bar Red Sky.)
Tip us a nice coffee shop or bar where our readers can drop by.
I’m not a fan of a bar or a café but I tried HOBS at Central World once and I liked it. I just love beer 😊. (There is also a HOBS ICONSIAM with a great terrace!)
What is your favorite Thai dish?
I like all kind of Khao Pad (fried rice). Pineapple fried rice is very refreshing. And Khana Moo Krob (Fried kale with crispy pork) is also my favorite dish.
What is your favorite accommodation in Thailand?
Actually, my trips are one day trips. I don’t know much about it.
Do you have a (travel) tip that might come in handy in Thailand?
Try visiting local morning markets and eating local food if you have a chance. There might be less people who can speak English, but you will see many interesting things there.
Is there a Thai phrase or word our readers need to learn?
Tao Rai Krub/Ka (means how much is it?) when you want to buy something. And Lod Dai Mai Krub/Ka (can you give me a discount?) when you want to buy with a discount. Remember to end the sentence with Krub (if you are a man) or Ka (if you are a woman). These 2 words make the sentences sound more polite.
What type / brand of camera do you use?
I mostly use my Canon M3 with its kit lens or 11-22mm, my phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and the compact Sony RX100 V.
Where can our readers find your work / photos?
I have 2 Instagram accounts, one for my artwork and book reviews – @harinchevanat, one for my architectural photography – @harkitektur. You can visit my blog at https://harinchevanat.wordpress.com and Flickr at https://flickr.com/photos/harinchevanat/
Last question, who should we also ask our ‘In the Picture’ feature?
A street photographer who also has his YouTube channel about film photography and Pop art, Artyt Sun Lerdrakmongkol.
