See Thailand through the photographer’s lens, read background stories about the pictures and learn more about the beautiful Thailand! In this edition of In the Picture we will show a few extra images, the creator sent us a some extra. And who are we not to post them… Thanks Prashant, hopefully you too can travel from India to Thailand soon!
Hello, please introduce yourself.
Namaste Thailand Magazine,
My name is Prashant Kumar Dubey and I live in Bangalore in India. I was born in Rewa, which is located in Madhya Pradesh (a state in India). The name of the state is Madhya because it’s in central India. The White tiger was originally found at Rewa before 300-400 years. Then I moved to Bhopal (capital of Madhya Pradesh) where I did my engineering. After that I relocated to Bangalore. I am working as software engineer at Ola Cabs (ride hailing company). In 2013 I started my photography journey using only my iPhone 5s but the real photography party started in January 2019 when I bought my first APSC DSLR Nikon D7500.
I love to travel! For me that is exploring the environment and capturing the moment in my own way. I am always open to learning new things and helping the people I encounter in my life. I would like to make a difference in the world. Maybe that is why I became a software engineer. I have spent years learning to do this, and I believe that with the knowledge I have gained, I can improve the world with technological advances.
Here’s to a bright future!

The steps of the Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple in Chiang Mai
This photo has the perfect combination of shadow and light for me because of the trees surrounding the steps. This photo was taken while I was going to the Doi Suthep Temple in Chiang Mai.
What is your favorite destination in Thailand?
Chiang Mai in the northern part of Thailand comes to mind first because of its culture, mountains, food, temples and because it’s less explored than other destinations in Thailand.
Which place / destination in Thailand is still on your wish list to visit?
In the future, I would like to visit Ayutthaya and Chiang Rai.
#3
Pattaya Beach in uhmmm Pattaya haha
This Shot is one of my favorite pictures because I love to shoot with long exposure. The colors in this image are so natural and I can enjoy hours from this spot on this beach in Pattaya. This photo was taken in November 2019.

Small child with swindled Bangkok logo
This photo was taken during a walk to one of the (night) markets in Bangkok. In this photo, the child is attracted by the light to play with. I didn’t hesitate for a moment and took this photo with that little child and the word Bangkok as the logo.

Human like monk statues in a temple in Chiang Mai
This photo has an interesting story, when I walked into this temple in Chiang Mai I thought the monks were practicing the Dhyana and that they were real. Only after I got closer did I realize that these monks were not real, but statues. I was just perplexed by the authenticity and the art of detail!
Which place / destination do you recommend our readers to visit and why?
Railay Beach or Pai. Railay Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and Pai is the most remote place in Thailand that I have been so far. If you like the mountains and culture, you’ll love Pai.
Where do you like to eat?
As a vegetarian, I especially love the food on the streets of Bangkok.

Sunrise on East Railay Beach in the Krabi province
This photo was taken during the early morning on East Railay Beach. I was staying at Tonsai Beach so I had to go to the other beach early in the morning. The solo walk from Ton Sai Beach to Railay Beach took an hour. But I went for it, alone and with one goal in mind, a beautiful picture, so here it is!
Tip us a nice coffee shop or bar where our readers can drop by.
What is your favorite Thai dish?
Rice with a vegetarian salad.
#8
The rice field by the Bamboo Bridge in Pai
This is my favorite place in Thailand. Less explored and so very picturesque. There is a small river between these rice fields and also a temple at the end of the field. One requires a minimum payment of 30 baht. This shot was taken in November 2019. I am sending you this photo because I love the lush green field and nature all around. The area around Pai in northern Thailand is insanely beautiful!

The rice field by the Bamboo Bridge in Pai
This photo was taken far from the hut in this rice field. People were relaxing in the hut.
What is your favorite accommodation in Thailand?
The Zzhouse in Chiang Mai because it’s a good and cheap affordable option.
Do you have a (travel) tip that might come in handy in Thailand?
If you are planning to travel to Thailand make a list of places you want to visit in advance. Also make sure you have enough time to explore the city, place or area. Rent a scooter and stay in a hostel if you are a backpacker.
Is there a Thai phrase or word our readers need to learn?
Thank you -> Krub khun kha / Krub khun krub (woman / man).

Longtail boats on Tonsai Beach in the Krabi province
This photo was taken at Tonsai Beach, one of the most remote beaches in the Krabi province. There is no other way than a walk through the jungle/side by rocky beach or boat ride.
#11
White Buddha (Temple on the Hill / Wat Phra That Mae Yen) in Pai
This photo was taken when I was on my way to the White Buddha of Pai. The Buddha statue was visible from afar so I took this photo close to the center, the Walking Street of Pai. The dramatic clouds provided the perfect background.
#12
West Railay Beach in the Krabi province
I took this photo on the western beach of Railay. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. During my visit in the early morning, it was also very quiet. This beach is famous for the beautiful sunset you can see from this beach.
What type / brand of camera do you use?
A Nikon D7500 with tripod and an ND Filter.
Where can our readers find your work / photos?
On my Instagram page.
Last question, who should we also ask our ‘In the Picture’ feature?
Sorry I really don’t know but i like to follow you on Instagram haha

Traffic seen from my hotel room in Patong on Phuket
I took that photo with my tripod from the window of one of the hotels in Patong where I stayed in 2019 called The AIM Patong. I love taking photos with long exposures and I thought this was a great place to take such a photo.

Shadow game in a hotel in Bangkok
This black and white image is taken in the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok. I clicked this shot because the shadow and light game was on point and also a lady was moving away so it made a perfect shot with a human element on it with patterns on the shot. This shot was taken at Bangkok in 2019 November.
