CHAWENG BEACH

Chaweng Beach is the most developed and touristic part of Koh Samui. Here you will find everything you need for a (luxury) beach holiday. Chaweng Beach has a lovely elongated powdery sand beach that slopes gently into the clear blue sea. It is not for nothing that Chaweng is a popular destination on Koh Samui! Directly by the sea are mainly luxury resorts complete with swimming pool and spa. But if you are willing to take a few steps further there are plenty of fine budget hotels to be found.

Don’t do anything

For a drink, snack or a souvenir you don’t even have to go to the beach. The salesmen will come to you on the beach. The coastline has several restaurants, accommodations and bars. If you are looking for peace and quiet, the volume in the bars might be a little too much for you. Still, there are plenty of places where you can listen to the sounds of the sea. You will have to walk a few steps further. But if you are really looking for peace and quiet and deserted beaches, Chaweng Beach is probably not the ideal beach for you. Possibly Lamai Beach suits you better then. This beach is called the quieter version of Chaweng Beach.

Conviviality at Chaweng Beach

In the evening it is crowded in the walking street of Chaweng Beach, you have a wide choice of restaurants and bars. At a cabaret show you will be lured inside by a Ladyboy and through the speakers of a Songthaew a Muay Thai fight is announced. As if that isn’t enough, there are also plenty of souvenir shops to stroll by. You can go for a quick bite at the famous fast food chains. If this is too crowded for you, you can dine along the coastline or have a drink with your feet in the sand. You will have to make choices in Chaweng! Or if it’s all your thing just stay a little longer!
