Good holidays include good food! Although Koh Mook (Koh Muk) is not very big, you have a wide choice of several good restaurants. To help you on your way we share our favorite restaurants on Koh Mook with you!
Sugar’s Coffee & Restaurant is a small and lovely family restaurant in a beautiful location right on the beach where the longtail boats are moored. Some of the tables are on the beach so you could eat with your feet in the sand if you like. Besides the delicious crunchy spring rolls and curries with roti (recommended!) Sugar’s is also known for its excellent smoothies, shakes and of course the coffee. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your order because everything is prepared for you on the spot, but it’s definitely worth the wait! You can go there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sugar, the friendly owner deserves a place in this list of Koh Mook’s best restaurants!
Sugar’s Coffee & Restaurant is a few minutes walk from the village.
A good baker couldn’t be missing in our list of best restaurants on Koh Mook! Thai, western, vegan, you name it and they’ve got it. Wake up with a good (iced) coffee or cappuccino and the best breakfasts are served at Miss Island Bakery. All sandwiches such as croissants, cakes and pastries are baked in our own bakery and there is even brown bread! Taking freshly baked bread and coffee to your own place is also possible. The interior of the restaurant is cozy without too much embellishment. In the evening the garden is attractively lit and you can enjoy delicious curries, pizza or pasta.
The bakery is located opposite the Koh Mook Hostel, near the village. Guests of the Koh Mook Hostel can have free breakfast here.
Despite the fact that this restaurant is only open in high season, it also belongs in the list of best restaurants on Koh Mook! The Perfect Bar and Restaurant is a perfect spot on the beach in the shade of the trees. The friendly, always smiling service strives for perfection and they succeed quite well! The service is good and fast! The dishes are tasty and friendly priced. Between 4 and 6 PM it’s Happy Hour, cocktails cost 90 baht and mocktails 45 baht in that time period. But also try the delicious iced coffee!
The restaurant is located near the village of Koh Mook and 500 meters from Sivalai Beach.
Ma Ki Ni isn’t a restaurant that tries to lure you in with a lot of glitter and glamour, the delicious smells do their job. The restaurant looks simple but in the small open kitchen delicious fresh and authentic Thai dishes are prepared for you. For the real foodies! There is also a small roti pancake stall for sweet dessert, if you have some space left or as a snack during the day.
Ma Ki Ni Cafe & Restaurant is located in the center opposite the Koh Mook supermarket and the only ATM on the island.
Going out on Koh Mook
Koh Mook does not (yet) have a real nightlife but there are some nice bars. The Koh Mook Ting Tong Bar is a cozy place where you can have a drink while enjoying a fire show. The Perfect Bar en Restaurant has happy hour from 16:00 to 18:00 and is nice place by the sea to start the evening.
The transport on koh Mook is simple and well arranged! On the island scooters ride with a sidecar, there you can ride with several people at the same time. Each ride on the island costs 50 baht p.p. one way. So negotiating the price is not necessary!
